UFC NEWS – Perosh vs. Penner Added To UFC on FX 2
UFC officials have put together a light-heavyweight bout between Anthony Perosh and Nick Penner scheduled for UFC on FX 2 in March.
UFC on FX 2 is set to feature a main event welterweight bout between Martin Kampmann and Thiago Alves. The Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia will play host to the fight card on March 3 of 2012 and will also feature the opening round of the UFC’s flyweight title eliminator tournament.
Perosh last saw action at UFC 138 where he was able to put together his second consecutive UFC victory. In the bout he was able to submit the always tough Cyrille Diabate in the second round of action. He has now gone 3-1 in his last four fights and 6-2 since 2008.
Penner is a Canadian based fighter looking to make his UFC debut. He earned his shot on the big stage by putting together an impressive eight-fight win streak on the Canadian MMA circuit. Nine of his 11 career victories where via stoppage in some fashion.
The bout is expected to grace the preliminary portion of the evening’s card.
