UFC NEWS – Paulo Thiago vs. Mike Pyle Booked For UFC 142 In Brazil

A welterweight clash between two top talents has been booked for the UFC’s return trip to Brazil this upcoming January.
UFC 142 is expected to go down on Jan. 14 from Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena. However, the event itself has yet to be officially announced by the UFC. Booked in what is expected to the main event is a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.
Paulo Thiago last graced the UFC audience with an impressive performance at UFC 134 against David Mitchell. He took the fight with a unanimous decision and simultaneously snapped a two-fight losing streak in front of his hometown crowd. Prior to the victory, the Brazilian dropped fights to Martin Kampmann and Diego Sanchez.
Mike Pyle last saw UFC action at UFC 133 in a losing effort to welterweight wrecking machine Rory MacDonald. The first round TKO loss at the hands of the Canadian halted the three fight win streak that Pyle had out together against Lennox, Hathaway and Almeida.
