UFC NEWS – Miguel Torres Back In The UFC

According to UFC president Dana White, bantamweight fighter, Miguel Torres has been allowed back into the UFC following a dismissal from the promotion earlier this month.

White announced the news following today’s UFC 141 pre-fight press conference.

Torres, the former WEC bantamweight champion, received his walking papers from the promotion following a controversial posting on twitter that made fun of rape.

The twitter post prompted Dana White to announce his dismissal for the remarks and make an example out of the former champion so that others would not follow in his footsteps.

Today, that has all changed. After donating large sums of money to rape centers and visiting the centers to get a better understanding of how serious the crime is a remorseful Torres has gotten his job back.

Dana is such a fucking pushover. Why bother trying to look tough when you just bring him back? Rashad’s comments were way more out of line than Miguel’s anyway.

    • rondo says:

Who the hell do you think it was that made Torres Donate too rape centers???

    • GRT 3000 says:

I think Dana has more brains than peeps give him credit for. I think he was setting a precedent in the UFC and he started with Miguel. Sux for him, but I think Dana made his point with the rest of the fighters. The UFC didn’t work their ass off to get this sport sanctioned across America (the globe) only to have their fighters talking like back alley street rats. I agree that Rashad should have got into some shit too though. Like I said, it sux for Miguel, but I’m glad he’s back.

  2. OMG another flip flop decision from Dana White. This scumbags word means nothing. You cant trust him as far as u can throw him. Im surprised Paul Daley aint back in the UFC yet.

    • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

Well did you agree with Miguel being kicked out or not? The ends justify the means this time and Miguel has redeemed himself.

As president, although he is a flip flopper he should show some mercy and allow his employees to redeem themselves when they make their employers look bad. Especially when they are good people and deserve to be in the UFC.

      • restingbird says:

Totally agree. I think Nate Marquardt is a good example. Dana should have given him the opportunity to redeem himself.

        • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

I think Marquardt was already given another chance and he wasted on steroid abuse. Idk what he did to Dana but he probably disrespected him in some way because he treats those who are loyal to the UFC very well. He probably is ignorant to the fact that his fighters are on steroids but if they get busted by the athletic commission then he has to kick them out like any other sports organization to be taken seriously a sport and the premier MMA organization.

It shows the scum of the earth has a heart.

  3. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

I am incredibly happy that Dana let him back in the UFC. Although his joke was in poor taste, I always believed that Dana handled the situation improperly. This was the perfect way to show discipline to one of his fighter by having him donate large sums of money to rape centers. Welcome back man!

  4. joe jitsu says:

The comments made by torres were from always sunny in philadelphia and I I saw no need for him to get kicked out in the first place

  5. Dana is cool the way he is... says:

…he changed his mind about Torres? And, what’s your point??? It affected YOUR life in what way??? He does business HIS way and many of you hate? J? Hate white guys? The way all these haters hate you would think they all lived like the Pope! Dana leads not ONE of the biggest, but THE biggest MMA organization in the WORLD! Not, US, WORLD ! You don’t get into that position by being stupid or lazy. What do most of us do? Electrician? Attorney? Walmart shelf stocker? Not one decision Dana has made has affected my life other than putting together great fight cards that I’ve enjoyed watching.
    That’s all the matters.

    • SumPplDontThink.... says:

Does other people calling Dana White a flip flopper affect YOUR life in any way?….. No? STFU… Some people trying to seem wise…. If you had a cowboy hat on, I’d slap it off your head, Diaz Style… *Smack!*

      • eh fricken dumbass... says:

this is a comments board, piece of shit! at no point does the previous post say NOT to make comments, dumbass. if you thought what was written was thought provoking, I DID MY JOB! sorry if I offended your fcken walmart stock boy job, but you should’ve studied harder in elementary school, piece of shit!…now write your comeback following my lead because you’re too stupid to lead yourself, you idiot.

  6. UberMoose says:

Well if nobody saw this coming then, duhhh. White would’ve meant to bring him back all along, had to make an example out of him ffs

  7. DOC SANTOS says:

It was a joke. If you didn’t like it, pretend you never read it and carry on.

  8. Anderson Price of Silver says:

I’m glad he’s back in the UFC. The punishment definitely didn’t fit the crime. I hope he didn’t have to give too much money to the rape charities. That’s so lame that he first lost his job and then lost money.

  9. Buster says:

Half of these D-bags on this site had bloody vaginas for this guy gettin axed- Now they want to complain danas a flip flopping clown etc. Maybe it was a lesson taught and learned- all of you suck btw.

  10. restingbird says:

Seems like most are overreacting about this. Miguel paid his dues and went about it like a professional so I can see why Dana gave him a second chance. Its not like Miguel has been a repeat offender of this kind of behavior. On that note, I am still bitter that Dana is willing to give certain fighters a second chance while others get burned so I can see where some of these comments above come from. Case in point, Nate Marquardt should have been given another chance if these other fighters are getting them.

  11. MMFT says:

that’s right he’s back, dana. you flip floppin bitch.

  12. evilbeast says:

I think Dana did the right thing. He realized he made a mistake and he corrected it. Would you be happier if he was hard headed and wouldn’t admit a mistake? Have you ever made a decision and changed your mind later? Good job Dana.

  13. mick says:

torres shouldve never been released in the first place….freedom of speech bitches

  14. Millerhighlife says:

This is a good day than, cause Torres is a great fighter

  15. LCM says:

That’s odd, I don’t remember hearing about Forrest and Rashad having to donate large sums of money to rape centers or even going to visit them. Hmmmm

  16. Long-Strong says:

not surprised… dana white always says they’ll never ever… and then they do…

  17. ThaGreenBandit says:

    Glad to see Torres back

  18. GreenTeaBagger says:

So the lesson today is; make fun of whatever you want, just make sure you have money to donate to a worthy cause later.
