UFC NEWS – Mayhem Miller Agrees With Dana White’s Assessment Of His Terrible Performance Against Bisping

Following a very entertaining season of “The Ultimate Fighter”, coaches, Jason “Mayhem” Miller and Michael Bisping squared off in the season finale for a scheduled five-round bout.

Miller, a star in his own right amongst MMA fans was expected to do well in his return to the Octagon and while many thought he took the first round away from his coaching adversary he faded quick and lost via TKO in the third round.

UFC president Dana White called it the worst performance in MMA history and went as far to state that you could see better striking in females Tae Bo class.

It was a harsh assessment on a world renowned fighter, one who has faced some of the best opposition on the planet and looked pretty darn good doing so.

You would think that Miller would take offense to such criticism from his new boss, however, according to his latest blog entry on his personal website, he agrees with the UFC president and vows to make a change.

As someone who goes to my website, you are well aware that I lost my recent
fight. I am very disappointed about it, but have used the past couple weeks to reflect on everything and have come to some conclusions.

Dana White was right. He made some disparaging comments about my performance, and I agree with him. I displayed the worst of everything that night in the octagon. I was tense in round one and I locked up after that. I didn’t perform to my potential, and I take full responsibility for it. That wasn’t a UFC caliber performance, and I’m not happy about it- I won’t, however, write a worthless diatribe on myself, because that is not constructive. I elect instead to take this misstep and make something positive out of it.

We are all the custodians of our own destinies, and we must all try to do the absolute best with what we have to work with- sometimes you will have great successes and other times colossal failure, but if you don’t try time and time again, you will be left on your couch with nothing but a bucket of “What-ifs.” You have no choice in this life but to push forward and try to do the best you can.

My challenge to you, and myself, is to continue to press on and make the most of your adventure here on earth. At the end of your life you want to be sure that you’ve made your best effort to make a collection of epic stories. Some sorrowful ones, some happy ones and some downright amazing, but the challenge for you is to find and make the most of each of these adventures.

Good on you Mayhem thats sign of a true champion “judge a man by not how he falls but how he gets up and keeps going after the fall” Mayhem will be back better than ever if there is one thing we know about this guy is he’s world class but in the bisping fight his cardio was barely good but he will be back we need him in this sport he’s such a character.

  2. Robbie Wiggins says:

Hopefully you’ll get tha chance to fight Bisbing again,if not ,oh well! I do hope to see you fight in tha UFC again though

  3. DeepSeaGod says:

I would like to see him fight in the octagon again. He did put on a pretty bad performance, but fighters are entitled to one of those, just not too many. Work on that stand up Mayhem!

    Mayhem miller vs Jorge riviera

  5. Brydon Richardson says:

Mayhem was and still is my MMA idol. I started MMA after watching his performances in Japan. I have vowed myself to become a UFC fighter after watching so many TUF seasons. Mayhem, you really did screw that last fight up, but I know you will bury that fight and rise the greater ones. I look forward to meeting him and maybe training with him.

-]. The thing what makes me laugh is everyone was like “Miller via KO” “I can’t wait to see Bisping get Hendo’d again” and crap like that. What happened, Miller looks like he wasn’t even ready .[-

  7. magoo says:

what can you say it was a bad performance, and Mayhem admits it,keep your head up and keep movin forward, the one thing Bisping will “never” beat you in is the personality column, yours is one of the best out there………..cheers

  8. MMACRAVER says:

As a fan of Mayhem… I don’t really care to hear all this “In life you push forward talk, and life is about collecting both sad and happy stories bla bla bla” . That’s very vague as far as what steps he’s going to take to actually improve his skillset.

fighting isnt only about having skill, if you go into a fight with the wrong mindset your going to be tense and you’re going to be worried about losing, not be focused on winning. honestly if you get beat down you got to stand back up and try to do you’re best, and to be honest mayhem even said that he wasent hurt “im just tired” right after the fight ended the guy’s tough and already has a ridiculous amount skill. He didnt need to spar more. he needed to be focused and ready to fight. not tense and worried.

      • MMACRAVER says:

Sparring against top level guys gives you the confidence to go in the ring and not feel tense and worried.

If he was so unsure of himself he sure did hide it well leading up to the fight, and during the entire season of the ultimate fighter.

There is always butterflies before competition… This was worse then butterflies.

It was funny too me how hard mayhem tried to avoid getting hit by abandoning all technique to throw looping, ducking punches. Only to get beat up anyway….

One thing I truly love about Mayhem he’s an incredibility intelligent person. He is a very good example to all the idiots that still label this sport as “Human Cock Fighting” and stereotype the fighters as being all morons. I wish the best of luck to Mayhem and hope to see him back in the UFC soon, WAR MAYHEM!!!

  10. Coffee409 says:

Go look up some of Miller’s previous fights on Youtube. His stand up isn’t as bad as he showcased against Bisping… I don’t know if it was UFC jitters, an adrenaline dump, excitement, out of shape or a mixture of all of the above……. But he did put on a horrendous performance. I hope it was a one off and he gets back to better form.

  11. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

I know Mayhem if given another chance, will prove himself worthy of competing in the Octagon. Keep training and refining that stand up brother. Keep that good attitude and good humor that has gifted you the large following you have. I look forward to seeing Mayhem return even better than his showing in his last fight. Even when losing he puts on an entertaining show.

  12. Long-Strong says:

I think Jason Miller is going to fight Dan Miller and whoever loses gets kicked out.
