UFC NEWS | Machida Eyeing Fight With Dan Henderson Or Chael Sonnen
“I would be really honored to face [Dan Henderson].At 41 years old and competing at such a high level, he’s an example for our sport. The fight he had with ‘Shogun’ was unbelievable. I think we could have a great fight… Actually, I never had an interest in facing [Sonnen], but he did so much trash talking that I started to have an interest because I’m not the kind of person who likes to say a lot of bad stuff about my opponents. I’d rather fight and see what happens. I think that fight could happen, but that will depend on whether or not he fights Anderson [Silva].”
In a recent interview with sherdog.com, former UFC light-heavyweight champion, Lyoto Machida discusses his desire to face either Chael Sonnen or Dan Henderson.
However, the likelihood of one of these matchups coming to fruition has yet to be determined. Henderson may be the next to face Jon Jones if Rashad is not successful this weekend against Phil Davis. Sonnen is next in line to face Anderson Silva is he can get past Bisping.
What’s next for “The Dragon”? Who knows at this point but a match up with either Team Quest fighter is one the fans would surely tune in for.

First of all Chael will be fighting for the belt so machida will have to wait, same goes for Hendo! They’re only fight top competition right now. C’mon machida work your way up again after that Jones beating you took. If rashad win against Davis there might be a possibility of Hendo v machida.
Machida would get KO’ed by Hendo. He can’t recover from a good punch. Davis vs Machida makes more sense.

Machida would own Hendo. Hendo could win if he hit Machinda but thats a big if. Machida lost to the best fighter in the hisotry of the sport but also handed him a loosing round in which he looked amazing.
Did you just refer to Jon Jones as the best fighter in the history of the sport? Jon Jones is for sure the best 205′er right now, but I wouldn’t call him the best fighter ever. He’s still got a long way to go before he earns the right to be called the greatest of all time.

Both good match-ups… Machida would win both because Hendo wouldn’t be able to land the H-bomb and Sonnen wouldn’t be able to take Lyoto down… even if he did Lyoto would submit him. I see Hendo getting his false teeth kicked out and Chael getting his real teeth booted out as well.
hendo would knock machida out cold and leave him lying on the mat with his eyes open like jon jones did. chael would ragdoll him in similar fashion to what he did to his friend anderson “my shoulder hurts” silva.

Besides Shogun Machida has what it takes to beat anyone.. Shogun was his only krptanite and he let the fight vs Jones slip away and loss a bs decision to rampage..

Rampage won two out of three rds although the 2nd was close. If it was a 5 round fight I wonder who would have won. Rampage always has excellent cardio.
