UFC NEWS – Kampmann vs. Alves Official For UFC on FX 2

We haven’t even entered the last month of 2011 yet and UFC officials are already planning bouts for March of 2012.
The latest of which comes in the form of a spectacular welterweight booking between Martin Kampmann and Thiago Alves for the promotions second appearance on the FX network.
BJPENN.COM announced the likelihood of the meeting between the two last week and it appears we were on the money.
UFC on FX 2, while not yet official is rumored to take place on March 3. The Kampmann vs. Alves bout is likely slated for either the main or co-main event of the evening, although at this point in time it is too early to be certain.
Kampmann was last seen in action defeating Rick Story at UFC 139 this past weekend. It was a much needed win after the long-time UFC resident dropped his two previous bouts to Jake Shields and Diego Sanchez via controversial decisions.
For Alves, the one-time title challenger found himself on a 1-3 skid recently but was able to bounce back from his less than perfect Octagon luck and take out Papy Abedi earlier this month at UFC 138 by submission.
The bout marks the first booking for the yet to be announced event. No location for the possible March 3rd bout was indicated at the time of this report.
