UFC NEWS – Johnny Bedford Fills Void Left By “Mighty Mouse” Johnson And Faces Eddie Wineland on FOX 2 Card

The Ultimate Fighter season 14 contestant, Johnny Bedford is the first cast member in the “TUF” 14 aftermath to book a gig with the UFC. He will now fill in for the recently removed Demetrious Johnson and face Eddie Wineland on the UFC on FOX 2 fight card.
Johnson was removed when the UFC recently announced their 125 pound flyweight division and his involvement in the four-man title tournament.
UFC on FOX 2 is set to go down from Chicago’s United Center on January 28 live on FOX TV.
In the main event, Phil Davis will square off with Rashad Evans for the number one contender seat in the UFC’s light-heavyweight division ruled over by Jon Jones. The co-feature of the evening is a middleweight number one contender bout between Mark Munoz and Chael Sonnen. Also featured on the card is a middleweight bout with serious title implications between Michael Bisping and Damian Maia.
Bedford was last seen scoring a third round TKO over fellow “Ultimate Fighter” 14 cast member Louis Gaudinot. The “TUF” semifinalist is now 7-1 in his last eight professional outings with five of those wins coming via stoppage.
Wineland was last seen on the “UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle” card in a losing effort to top bantamweight, Joseph Benavidez. The loss marked his second straight and he likely fights for his place on the UFC’s roster if this bout does in fact come to fruition.

I’m pulling for Bedford but this is a big step up in competition. This is kind of a win-win situation for him though, if he loses ‘oh well’ he took t on short notice and it’s s step up, if he wins it’ll put him right up there as a contender.
would rather see dodson in there
Dodson is in flywieght now with johnson
Your not kidding that’s a big step good thing he didn’t take punishment in his first fight. He looked good tho. Maybe to big of a leap just yet
Bedford is a gamer, but I don’t think he’s ready for Wineland yet. It’s definitely a win-win situation for him though.
Bedford is a beast at BW. However he can take Eddie down and will get outstruck. Even Faber had a hard time getting Eddie down.
Hope Wineland puts Bedford to sleep.I can’t stand Bedford.
