UFC NEWS – John “Prince” Albert vs. Ivan Menjivar included on UFC on Fuel TV 1 Card

After an impressive 69 second TKO victory over The Ultimate Fighter 14 prospect Dustin Pague, John “Prince” Albert will face Ivan Menjivar on February 15th at UFC on Fuel TV 1.

The venue of the event is currently being planned by the UFC and is likely to take place in Omaha, Nebraska’s 18,000 seat CenturyLink Center.

Under Michael Bisping’s tutelage during The Ultimate Fighter 14, John Albert defeated Orville Smith via rear naked choke. However, in his next fight, he lost to the TUF 14 tournament winner John Dodson by unanimous decision. As Albert is officially undefeated in the UFC (7-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) with his recent win over Dustin Pague, he will try to maintain an untarnished record with a win over the proud Salvadoran, Ivan Menjivar.

Ivan Menjivar was invited back to the UFC after being dropped 7 years ago by the organization. Ever since his loss to Matt Serra at UFC 48 and his immediate release thereafter, the Canadian denizen and Tristar Gym member fought notable fighters such as Caol Uno, Joe Lauzon, and Urijah Faber. While Menjivar has 31 bouts under his belt to Albert’s 8 total fights, the fight is truly turning out to be a veteran vs. rookie clash.

Despite his two fight win streak in the UFC over Charlie Velencia and Nick Pace, Menjivar knows from experience how fast the UFC can cut fighters after losses. Both fighters will look to secure their UFC careers at UFC on Fuel TV 1.
