UFC NEWS – JDS Goes Under The Knife To Repair Knee

UFC heavyweight champion, Junior Dos Santos, underwent successful knee surgery yesterday to repair a torn meniscus suffered while training for his UFC on FOX 1 main event title fight against Cain Velasquez.
It was revealed shortly after the bout, in which he was able to best Velasquez in under a minute, that he did so with a nagging knee injury.
As the days went on, more details surrounding the injury of the newly crowned champion started to emerge and it became evident that he would be unable to return to action without an operation to repair the knee.
The Brazilian champion went under the knife yesterday morning and came out unscathed with a successful operation to repair the MCL.
Once recovered Junior Dos Santos will face off with the winner of this month’s Lesnar vs. Overeem bout to defend his title for the first time.
At the time of this report no timeline was given on the recovery of the champ.
