“GSP is fantastic, one of the best fighters in the world. I’m working my way up, one fight at a time and hopefully I can get to fight GSP. I think [my style] is definitely one to give him more trouble than a lot in the past. He’s one of the best fighters in this sport. I definitely have to be prepared and I’ve dedicated by life to training and doing everything I have to do to keep improving on things I’m weaker at or not as strong and become more well-rounded. I definitely believe I can beat GSP. I think I can beat anybody in my weight class in the world. I just have to continue to stay focused.”

Nah, Ellenberger will start facing some of the top guys and realize what time it is. I don’t think he has what it takes to actually beat top guys consistently. GSP is definitely over rated. Guys he’s out pointed for 25 minutes (Shields, Hardy) have been destroyed in their very next fights in the first round by other welter weights (Condit, Ellenberger). For the last few years it has seemed to me that GSP has been given over rated fighters or guys he’s already beaten to fight against. As good as BJ is he is a small welter weight and it showed please the greasing that went on. GSP is a master strategist. He’s not the best fighter in the world. GSP is over rated and is protected by the UFC because he is their cash cow. All it takes is one slip up and it’s a wrap. I don’t think Diaz or Condit will be able to get past his defense but, I do think Ellenberger has the ferocity to do it.
