UFC NEWS – Felipe Arantes vs. Antonio 'Pato' Carvalho In The Works For UFC 142 In Brazil

A featherweight contest between Antonio Carvalho and Felipe Arantes is in the works for the UFC’s return trip to Rio in January.
UFC 142 is expected to go down on Jan. 14 from Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena. However, the event itself has yet to be officially announced by the UFC. Booked in what is expected to the main event is a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.
Carvalho was originally scheduled to make his UFC debut at UFC 134 however an injury suffered in training forced him out of the bout and Arantes took his place. Now fate has put the two against each other.
Carvalho is a Canadian based fighter, at 32-years of age he has been competing professionally for nine straight years. He last saw action in the Score Fighting Series promotion with a win over UFC veteran Douglas Evans.
Arantes is a Brazilian based fighter who more than likely is happy to return to his homeland and fight for the UFC on his native soil. Training out of New Jersey, the fighter’s six-fight win streak was put to a halt when he made his UFC debut at UFC 134 and took defeat at the hands of Alcantara.
