UFC NEWS – Demetrious Johnson vs. Eddie Wineland In The Works For UFC on Fox 2

A bantamweight bout between Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Wineland is being discussed for the UFC’s return trip to Network Television.
Sources close to the situation have confirmed that verbal agreements are in place; however UFC officials have yet to confirm the bout as official.
The UFC on Fox 2 card is still in the planning stages, however UFC president Dana White has confirmed that the second show to air on network television will go down at Chicago’s United Center on January 28.
Johnson was last seen in a five-round, action packed title fight against Dominick Cruz at “UFC Live: Cruz vs. Johnson”. After putting together four consecutive fights he was unable to capture victory against Cruz to earn the UFC’s bantamweight title and lost via unanimous decision.
Wineland was last seen on the “UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle” card in a losing effort to top bantamweight, Joseph Benavidez. The loss marked his second straight and he likely fights for his place on the UFC’s roster if this bout does in fact come to fruition.

Wineland is a tough dude. I think he may be a lil too big for Johnson, who needs to wait for the 125 weight class
