But I completely disagree with you that the UFC isn’t being deprived of anything. They own the rights and they put on a show for a profit. If you show the fight for free on the internet, they don’t make a profit so they are deprived of a profit they would have made if the fight was never offered for free. I will admit I do watch the fights for free on the internet sometimes.
As for intellectual properties the reason they exist is so that your competitors can’t steal your ideas and make a profit off of those like the Chinese do to us. Good ideas are a limited resource.
Disney made all the money by stealing intellectual property and now they’re one of the biggest supporters of SOPA and PIPA.

I guess Dana doesn’t understand the full scope of SOPA and PIPA. That if it were to pass, with all it’s vagueness and misdirected content, the government will have free reign on what goes on in the internet. That by simply panning UFC’s cameras on someone wearing a…say…Zepplin tshirt, the people who own rights to Led Zepplin, can freely and lawfully sue them for showing it on air without their permission. I completely understand what the bill is for, but some people just don’t understand the hidden agenda behind it as well. People like Anonymous, are going about it the wrong way. I understand their views, but being cyber terrorists just hurts the cause. Wikipedia and Google blackouts were highly effective, and they didn’t hack any sites.
