UFC NEWS – Court McGee Draws Constantinos Philippou In UFC on FX 2 Bout
A middleweight bout has been added to the UFC’s second trip to the FX network in the form of Court McGee vs. Constantinos Philippou.
UFC officials announced the bout late yesterday evening.
UFC on FX 2 is set to feature a main event welterweight bout between Martin Kampmann and Thiago Alves. The Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia will play host to the fight card on March 3 of 2012 and will also feature the opening round of the UFC’s flyweight title eliminator tournament.
Most commonly known as the winner of “The Ultimate Fighter” season 11, Court McGee will be looking for his fourth straight win inside the Octagon when facing off with Philippou in Australia. McGee initially took our Kris McCray in his UFC debut to with the UFC’s reality series then when on to take out Ryan Jensen and Dongi Yang.
Stepping inside the cage against McGee is the impressive Philippou who has been able to string together back to back victories fighting for the UFC over Jared Hamman and Jorge Rivera. Originally selected to be a part of the same “Ultimate Fighter” season that McGee won, he was unable to earn a spot in the house during the initial elimination round of the show. To date, his only UFC loss came in his debut against Nick Catone.
