UFC NEWS – Cole Miller Set To Make Featherweight Debut In March Against Steven Siler

American Top Team’s Cole Miller has finally delivered on his promise to drop a weight class and is set to try his hands in the UFC’s featherweight division against Steven Siler in the UFC on FX 2 card.
UFC on FX 2 is set to feature a main event welterweight bout between Martin Kampmann and Thiago Alves. The Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia will play host to the fight card on March 3 of 2012 and will also feature the opening round of the UFC’s flyweight title eliminator tournament.
After a decent run in the UFC’s lightweight division Cole Miller will look to follow the footsteps of other lightweight’s and drop to the UFC’s featherweight division.
He last saw action this past August during the “UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle” event where he submitted T.J. Obrien in the second round. The win marked his seventh in ten UFC bouts since signing with the promotion following a stint on The Ultimate Fighter season 5 in 2007.
Siler was seen on the last season of “The Ultimate Fighter”. In the opening elimination round he submitted Cole’s brother, Micah Miller, to earn his spot in the house. He last saw action during the Ultimate Fighter Finale where he was able to dominate Josh Clopton to win the fight via decision.

Wow he’s 6′ 1 and he’s goin to fight fw wtf how week are u these guys really need to realize is that maybe they will perform better if they actually Put on some muscle and fight at the weight they walk around at give or take ten fifteen lbs. if ur 6foot 1 u shld be fighting welterweight or middle weight not lw or fw guys they will just be too fast and u will be too week to do anything
I agree, people get carried away with weight cutting and more times than not it hurts them more than it helps them. We’ve seen some fighters move up to a more natural weight class and they look way better. I can’t imagine myself having to cut so much weight pre fight like the guys at ATT do. Cole was a skeleton at 155 at 145 hes gonna look even more drained.
yeah but im pretty sure hes fought featherweight before
Its normal in wrestling culture to cut weight. I used to cut 7weight pounds the morning of my matches
depends on his body too i am 6’1 as well and i weighed 164 last year naturally i wasnt cutting weight or anything so 145lbs at 6’1 is possible for some guys you just have a long narrow frame
I guess its no coincidence why Cole Miller is dropping to 145 to fight this Siler kid who UPSET and took his brother out on TUF. Cole Millers younger brother was talkan so much crap how he was going to win last season of TUF and then he gets BEAT by Siler and doesn’t even make it into the house. Payback for brother grudge match
Featherweight is the new Lightweight these days. Everyone is dropping down.
everyone who realizes they cant compete at the top level is dropping weight now,,,its out of hand..
