UFC NEWS – Cole Escovedo Released By UFC Following UFC on FOX Loss To Alex Caceres

Unfortunately for former UFC bantamweight fighter, the promotion requires a win in order to retain your employment and he fell short in three consecutive contests.
After debuting for the promotion at UFC 140 in a losing effort against Renan Barao at UFC 130 the UFC gave Escovedo two more chances to try and prove he belonged amongst the world’s greatest athletes.
He was unable to do so and took defeat at the hands of Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 135 and again to Alex Caceres at UFC on FOX 1.
The third loss to Caceres marked his fifth loss in six fights and as a result he was released by the UFC.
Escovedo took to the infamous underground forums at mma.tv today to announce his departure:
“back up the ladder of life I look again” I’ve officially been cut from UFC roster thnx to Dana an Joe for letting me reach what seemed like an impossible go years ago ….. HUGE thnx personally to Sean Shelby for making that phone call this year to me

That sucks getting a pink slip but to Bruce Leeroy? He was interesting on TUF but he wasn’t that good. Good luck man.
Did you watch Cole and Alex’s fight? Alex really stepped up his game and looked great!
Nah, but I really wanted to see how much he had progressed since he fought Shamar Bailey on the show. Unfortunately I missed that one. On the show he really exposed Shamar as a 2 dimensional fighter and impressed me.
he didn’t fight shamar bailey. different weight class, different TUF.
Damn, you are totally right! I just looked it up it was Michael Johnson. Cool name btw.
Alex completely DESTROYED Cole !!! He looked incredible… !!
As matter of fact he looked great in his second fight in the UFC too.. he got caught in a Sub but til that point he was showcasing some GREATLY improved groundgame.. and against Cole he was just a complete new fighter!
