UFC NEWS – Chad Griggs Books First UFC Fight Against Travis Browne At UFC 145

As we reported before the holidays, Strikeforce heavyweight fighter, Chad Griggs has been signed over to the UFC.
He now has a debut opponent and it is a very tall order for any fighter.
The undefeated Travis Browne has agreed to welcome Chad Griggs in a UFC heavyweight matchup scheduled for UFC 145 in March.
UFC officials took to twitter on Saturday Dec. 24 with the announcement.
UFC 145 is still yet to be officially announced by UFC officials but it is expected to take place on March 25 from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
Browne is a four-fight UFC veteran. The undefeated heavyweight fighter has been able to take out the likes of Rob Broughton, Stefan Struve and James McSweeney in route to retaining his unblemished record, even inside the Octagon. His lone notch against him since entering the UFC was a lackluster draw against Cheick Kongo at UFC 120.
Griggs is the latest Strikeforce fighter to cross over into the UFC waters. With his only career loss coming nearly five-years ago he has quickly become one of the heavyweight division’s hottest prospects. With wins over the likes of Bobby Lashley and Valentijn Overeem while under the Strikeforce banner, UFC fans should be excited to see this up-and-comer perform on the big stage.
