UFC NEWS – Carlo Prater Steps In For Injured Siyar Bahadurzada Against Erick Silva At UFC 142

WEC veteran Carlo Prater has been tapped to replace the injured Siyar Bahadurzada and will now face Erick Silva at UFC 142 in Brazil.
We announced yesterday that four-UFC 142 fighters where recently forced off the card and with the Prater booking two of the four bouts have been filled with replacements.
UFC 142 is set to go down on Jan. 14 from Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena. In the main event is a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.
Prater is a submission grappler who enters the UFC on the heels of a four-fight win streak. After dropping two fights under the WEC banner to Carlos Condit and Brock Larson he took to the smaller circuit and had the chance to reinvigorate his career. With victories in both Strikeforce and Legacy FC he has now been given the chance of a lifetime and will make his UFC debut as a late replacement at next month’s UFC 142 event.
His opponent Silva will try to string together his tenth consecutive victory when he steps in front of the HSBC crowd in Rio this January. Having won all of his last nine-fights, the Team Nogueira fighter was last seen scoring a 40-second stoppage of Luis Ramos in his Octagon debut at UFC 134.
