UFC NEWS – Caceres vs. Figueroa Set For UFC 143

A bantamweight showdown has just been added to the UFC 143 card. Coming off of his most impressive Octagon performance on the UFC on Fox card, Alex “Bruce Leroy” Caceres will face off with top prospect Edwin Figueroa.

UFC 143 is set to take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on February 4th. Georges St. Pierre will be the headliner against his newest title challenger Nick Diaz live on pay-per-view.

Caceres was last seen in an action packed and impressive performance over former division champ, Cole Escovedo. It was his first win since dropping two consecutive bouts inside the UFC’s Octagon and was also his bantamweight debut, which is likely where he belongs.

Figueroa was last seen in a TKO victory over Jason Reinhardt at UFC on Versus 5. It was a much needed win for him as he dropped his previous bout to Michael McDonald at Fight Night 24.

No word on the bouts placement on the evening’s card was given at the time of this report.

Yeah but he’s been in 3 wars especially the last 2! In the second fight he was a beast until he got caught… UFC loves fighters who step into the octagon and put on a show and he did just that. He was ahead on my scorecard until he got caught and his last fight made me forget about those two L’s completely! He keeps improving dramatically with each match. Looking forward to this fight!
