UFC NEWS – Bahadurzada vs. Silva & Maldonado vs. Nedkov Added To UFC 142 In Brazil

The ever growing roster for the UFC’s return trip to Brazil on Jan. 14 has just got two new additions.
Welterweight fighters Siyar Bahadurzada and Erick Silva have agreed to square off as have light-heavyweights Stanislav Nedkov and Fabio Maldonado.
UFC 142 is expected to go down on Jan. 14 from Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena. However, the event itself has yet to be officially announced by the UFC. Booked in what is expected to the main event is a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.
Bahadurzada can be seen as one of Mayhem Millers Ultimate Fighter Season 14 coaches. The team Golden Glory fighter and Afghanistan native brings in a six-fight win streak into the matchup which will serve as his UFC debut. He was last seen in a Shooto event capturing a victory over Carlos Pereira.
His opponent Silva will try to string together his tenth consecutive victory when he steps in front of the HSBC crowd in Rio this January. Having won all of his last nine-fights, the Team Nogueira fighter was last seen scoring a 40-second stoppage of Luis Ramos in his Octagon debut at UFC 134.
In light-heavyweight action, Nedkov is another fighter returning to Rio after an initial performance at UFC 134 in the country of Brazil. He was last seen dispatching Luiz Cane in the first round via TKO and giving Brazilian MMA fighters their only loss of the evening. The win stretched his unbeaten record to 12-0 with 10 of those wins coming via stoppage.
His opponent, Maldonado was last seen at The Ultimate Fighter season 13 Finale in a losing effort to Kyle Kingsbury. The loss snapped his 11-fight win streak.
The latest UFC 142 card now includes:
• Champ Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes (for featherweight title)
• Vitor Belfort vs. Anthony Johnson
• Sam Stout vs. Thiago Tavares
• Edson Barboza vs. Terry Etim
• Fabio Maldonado vs. Stanislav Nedkov
