UFC NEWS – Anthony Johnson: “It’s going to be fun fighting Vitor”
“I knocked out my opponent in one minute and nine seconds something like that [in my mma debut]. Vitor happened to be in the crowd, Shogun Rua was too. After the fight, Vitor gave me props and shook my hand. I never thought I’d be fighting a man who I shook hands with many years ago. I’m a fan of Vitor Belfort and always will be. It’s going to be fun fighting him… I still want to fight at 170, but I’m excited about making the jump to 185 and we’ll see what happens after this fight is over.”
Top welterweight fighter turned middleweight, has his eyes set on an unlikely fight scheduled for the UFC’s return trip to Brazil this January at UFC 142. In this interview with lowkick.com he talks about the pending bout and his future in the division.
Having met “The Phenom” after his first professional outing as a Mixed Martial Artists, Anthony Johnson never thought he would actually ever be locked in a cage with him.
With size, a decent wrestling base and explosive knockout power, will Johnson be able to take out the former UFC champion or will he fall victim to the power of Belfort?
