UFC NEWS – Abedi vs. Head & Cedenblad vs. Carmont Added To UFC on FUEL TV 2

A pair of contests featuring Swedish fighters has just been added to the UFC on FUEL TV 2 card in the form of Papy Abedi vs. James Head and Magnus Cedenblad vs. Francis Carmont.
UFC on FUEL TV 2 is now officially set to take place at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on April 14th.
The card is still in the works and the only bouts currently confirmed for the event are DeMarques Johnson vs. John Maquire and the aforementioned Papy Abedi vs. James Head and Magnus Cedenblad vs. Francis Carmont.
In just his second UFC bout, Abedi will get a chance to fight in front of his hometown crowd when he steps in the cage for UFC on FUEL TV 2 against Head. After an unsuccessful debut against Thiago Alves at UFC 138, the hard hitting Swede showed a lot of promise as a welterweight force to be reckoned with. The Alves loss marked the first of his career.
Stepping opposite Abedi will be former middleweight fighter, James Head. Having not seen action since his UFC 131 loss to Nick Ring, he was originally scheduled to make an appearance on the UFC 138 card, but multiple injuries and opponent shifts eventually forced his removal from the event.
In other action, Swedish fighter, Cedenblad gets his first shot in the UFC in front of his hometown crowd when he enters into combat with Carmont. Having earned his shot in the Octagon with a seven-fight win streak, he will look to prove that the Swedish regional circuit has a wealth of UFC worthy talent.
Carmont last saw action at UFC 137 outpointing Chris Camozzi in route to a unanimous decision victory. The Tri-Star trained fighter is currently riding high on a six-fight win streak and has won fourteen of his seventeen career fights via some form of stoppage.
