UFC Newcomers George Sullivan and Mike Rhodes Square Off At UFC on FOX 10
Two more fighters will see their dreams realized this month, as UFC newcomers George Sullivan and Mike Rhodes will both compete for the first time under the bright lights of the Octagon. The bout will take place on the UFC on FOX 10 card, January 25th out of the United Center in Chicago.
Rhodes, a member of the Roufusport MMA camp out of Milwaukee, cut his teeth in the sport via the Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA), where he had captured the companies inaugural welterweight championship via a unanimous decision win over Alan Jouban. His one blemish comes from a submission loss to the currently undefeated UFC fighter, Brandon Thatch.
On the other side of the coin, Sullivan has been on an absolute tear as of late, racking up six straight victories in the Cage Fury Fighting Championships (we’re apparently running out of names for MMA companies), with four of those victories coming by way of knockout. Sullivan will obviously be looking to extend his win streak to seven, and will more than likely come out swinging. Should be a great addition to the card.
Here’s how that card is shaping up:
•Benson Henderson vs. Josh Thomson
•Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Stipe Miocic
•Donald Cerrone vs. Adriano Martins
•Darren Elkins vs. Jeremy Stephens
•Alex Caceres vs. Sergio Pettis
•Yves Jabouin vs. Eddie Wineland
•Chico Camus vs. Yaotzin Meza
•Ramiro Hernandez vs. Hugo Viana
•Daron Cruickshank vs. Mike Rio
•Mike Rhodes vs. George Sullivan
PRELIMINARY CARD (UFC Fight Pass)
•Walt Harris vs. Nikita Krylov
