Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight Reza Madadi was arrested last Friday (May 24, 2013) in Sweden, for allegedly doing a “smash and grab” at a handbag boutique in Botega Veneta.
Madadi’s attorney tells Expressen.se (via MMA Weekly) that his client denies the charges against him.
Madadi is coming off a submission win over Michael Johnson at the UFC on Fuel TV 9 event in Stockholm. He holds a professional record of 13-3 MMA and is 2-1 in the UFC.
Last year Madadi was hailed as a hero for saving a drowning toddler, but now is expected to appear in court no later than June 10 to answer for his charges from Friday’s arrest according to MMAnytt.se.
