UFC on Fuel TV Main Card Results And Recap | Ellenberger Survives Brutal Third Round To Get The Win Over Sanchez

UFC on FUEL TV took place tonight in Omaha, Nebraska from the Omaha Civic Auditorium. A welterweight clash between Jake Ellenberger and Diego Sanchez is set for the evening’s main event.
It took all three-rounds for Ellenberger to secure victory tonight, but it wasn’t without its complications. After a pretty one-sided first two rounds Diego Sanchez was able to hurt Ellenberger in the third and eventually take the back of his opponent where he pretty much ended the fight delivering punch after punch after punch. In the end though, the judges scored it three rounds to two for Ellenberger.

Should have been a five round fight. Im sitting there watching this in the first rd like this is stupid,There going to market jack fighting condit. So why isnt this a five rd fight. I picked jack to win but it was easy to see the fight wasnt over. Deigo got robbed in a sense by this not being a longer fight. I also dont think you should be allowed to fight for the title from now on unless your contender fight is a 5 rd fight..
you mean jake? because there was no “jack” fighting
Lol no he was watching the fight in bizarro world.
They both came into this fight knowing it was 3 rounds. Diego didnt execute his game plan and lost…plan and simple. No excuses.
you mad?
he looked like shit for 13 and a half minutes, then got JAKE*’s back.
and im sure dana and lorenzo are going to change the rules, because YOU want them changed so diego can have a better chance at stealing another decision.
That was an awesome card man; I think I’m starting to like these better than the big show – dudes are hungrier and really show up to fight. Ellenberger dominated the majority of the fight, but took a beating in the last minute or so’…bad. I think if it went 5 rounds it might have been a different outcome. Props to Diego for always showing up to scrap.
no doubt gotta respect guys who bring it, especially guys in the ww division where point fighters are running rampant.
lol, yeah man. Like yer’ hero GSP right?! If GSP put’s on a point clinic for his next fight I’m out like you man. I’m a Canuck so I’ve had his back through some boring shit, but it’s showtime now for that dude. I wanna see fights not gameplans.
BJ! put down that f**kin Carlsberg and get back in there!
both ww champs are point scoring pansies imo. if u need a gameplan to beat nick diaz than it shows how scared you are to fight someone u know is dumber than you. nicks a warrior love his style but if u get popped for smoking weed when ur making around 500k a fight, idk any other word to describe u than stupid. condit reminds me of gsp, both exciting guys to watch but once they won a belt or competed for a ufc belt they start playing it safe and never are the exciting fighters they once were.
I guess his way of masking the use of weed failed him.
Yeah, a 5 rounder would have been very interesting. Ellenberger has great punch striking, but needs a lot of work on his kicks still. If he was more well – rounded that way, he could have avoided that late surge by Diego. Also, will be interesting to see him in his first 5 rounder when it happens – how his cardio holds up. Diego is a warrior as usual.
There’s no way Ellenberger could go 5 with Carlos..and that’s a guarantee…
I think the ref. was getting ready. I thought he moved and defended actively just enough.
I don’t understand why Struve’s fight got stopped and this one didn’t. Good fight though. Dana should quit dicking around with the number of rounds in the main events.
I would agree with you there from what I have seen, but he does have the ability to end it early. Right now, to me, GSP and Carlos are on a different level than everyone else in the WW division.
