UFC Heavyweight Todd Duffee Diagnosed With Rare Nerve Disorder
According to UFC Tonight, Duffee has been diagnosed with Parsonage-Turner Syndrome; a rare condition that typically starts with pain in the shoulder and upper arm, and can sometimes cause the affected muscles to become atrophied and weak. In advanced cases, paralysis can occur. Duffee had first been made aware of this syndrome six months ago.
Recovery time can vary, depending on the age and health of the patient; some people could have this form of brachial neuritis for a few months, and some could suffer through it for years. Typical cases see the patient fully recover in about 18-24 months’ time however, and with Duffee already being in great physical condition, that recovery window might be even smaller.
More details should become available within the coming months. And of course, we here at BJPenn.com wish Todd a speedy and safe recovery.
