UFC Flyweight Ian McCall Arrested | UFC NEWS

I guess when you employ more than 300 fighter’s it’s easy to compile a list of a few bad seeds or guys with legal issues.
In the most recent case of fighter-gone-bad, UFC Flyweight contender, Ian McCall has picked up an arrest of his own for driving with a suspended license and according to reports, various drug related charges. The California resident has since been released but details are foggy as to what we can expect out of the charges.
MMAFighting.com has more details:

According to the report, McCall, 28, was arrested “without incident for two Harbor Court warrants for possession of narcotic paraphernalia, possession of prescription meds without a valid prescription, and driving on a suspended license.”
A LBPD official said that McCall is “no longer in our custody,” but wouldn’t confirm exactly when he was released. They also wouldn’t confirm exactly why he was arrested.
The report states that undercover Laguna Beach detectives and DEA agents were working on an investigation in Irvine on Tuesday morning when they recognized McCall. A warrant check revealed that he was wanted. McCall’s bail was set for $16,500, according to the same report.

check mmaweekly.com. they already have the story completely updated and explain that it was some charges from years back and all that.
Yes, Weekly did run that, and it is correct. Yet, here at this jank-ass website, the lead-in states
“I guess when you employ more than 300 fighter’s it’s easy to compile a list of a few bad seeds or guys with legal issues.
In the most recent case of fighter-gone-bad…”
Allow me to re-write that a bit, “I guess when you employ shitty writers to use first-person, and then assume they have any iota of what they are speaking about, every now and again you may get a weak-ass article. Actually, most of the time you will get a weak-ass article. Because, you know, we are BJPenn.com, and we don’t fact check. We form facts based on assumption.”
Ian has stated numerous times that he had problems in the past, and sometimes the past catches up. No worries, dude will get his name cleared. That’s kind of hard when you have quasi-journalism running rampant. **** me, hire some real writers, please.
I got to agree on that entire statement. Although I really enjoy watching BJ Penn fight, I think is writers are cranks. They screw up on articles a lot, and never seen the fact check, nor spell check much of their writing. BJ’s got to come into the offices and do some so choke holds and armbars to get people to straighten up! They are making him look like a clown.
Ian McCall had trouble with drugs in the past. These are old warrants, and most fans already knew that he had these problems but had cleaned himself up, and been straight for several years.
yup
How can you accuse him of being a bad seed if you dont know what he really did?
Its illegal. You can’t doit.
Yeah, libel or slander anyone? If BJ is not careful, his website could face some serious lawsuits.
It takes a long time to build a good reputation, especially if you had troubles in your past! So, these fighters would not want to let someone try and destroy what they spend their lives dedicating themselves to, and trying to build. I know I would be pissed if this was me!
I hope he’s not using again…he’s overcome a lot, it would be sad to have to start over.
Shame reading this after his history of being “dead” from an overdose, gained mad respect the fact he could overcome that to be a top fighter, just hope he doesn’t hit the bad road again (/this isn’t entirely true), will be sorely missed if so.
Dude don’t drive with a suspended license. Try not to do illegal shit. Don’t make excuses for the guy. The stuff he did is illegal period. ……He should try to act like a real fighter with a real job not some dick who treats everything like a joke. Stop making excuses for him.
ian rocks
man, **** the police
yeah ok tough guy
sounds like he was snorting some oxycontin to me
Ain’t my business ..
This article is worthless and needs to be taken down.
“I guess when you employ more than 300 fighter’s it’s easy to compile a list of a few bad seeds or guys with legal issues. In the most recent case of fighter-gone-bad,” ???
You don’t know anything about this guy if he’s a bad seed or gone bad. Good people get in trouble with the law all the time.
