UFC Fight Night 47 Results: Bader Wrestles His Way to a Unanimous Decision Victory
OSP came out throwing more early in the fight but Bader answered with some hooks and a minute into the fight Bader timed the strike of OSP and caught a takedown which landed him in side control. St. Preux got back to his feet a minute later and started throwing some big strikes. However, Bader caught St. Preux with a counter straight that stunned him for a second. OSP responded with a few huge kicks to keep Bader at distance. The two exchanged but nothing big landed. Bader shot a huge blast-double with 15 seconds left in the 1st frame and ended the round on top of OSP in side control.
The 2nd round started with both men throwing huge shots but nothing significant landed until 2 minutes in when OSP landed a huge body kick to Bader. Bader tried to close the distance a few time and clinch but St. Preux’s athleticism and movement gave Ryan fits. Late in the round OSP clipped Bader with straight that looked to stun him and he ended up in top position until Bader came back to his feet. On the way back to their feet OSP landed a couple nice straights as Bader retreated. The 2nd round was clearly a round in favor of Ovince St. Preux.
The 3rd round began rather uneventful until Bader hit a takedown that he eventually turned into side control. Bader, however, didn’t do much with the position and OSP came back up to his feet. Bader was relentless and slammed St. Preux to the canvas with another takedown just seconds later. Bader landed a couple good shots from the top but OSP came back up to his feet at the end of the round and the two men ended the 3rd round standing idle.
OSP came out firing in the 4th round and landed a couple straights and a couple kicks. Bader immediately tried to take OSP down and clinched with him, but OSP wasn’t having that and quickly separated. St. Preux landed a couple leg kicks and a few jabs. He then started throwing big hay-makers before Bader again took him down and used his wrestling to completely control a worn out and frustrated Ovince St. Preux. OSP got up at the end of the round but Bader kept a cinch on his body-lock.
In the final round OSP scored a takedown on Bader but Ryan quickly came back up to his feet and then tossed OSP to the mat and landed himself in St. Preux’s half-guard. OSP forced a scrambled and hit a switch to pin Bader against the cage. Bader came back up and then reversed the position. The final round was mostly grappling in which Bader controlled the majority of the time. The round ended with Bader shooting in for a takedown and hanging on to the legs of OSP as the horn sounded.
