UFC Fight Night 30: Taylor, Njokuani To Try It Again
England’s Paul Taylor will get to shake the rust off on his home front.
The UFC lightweight has sat idle for nearly three years but looks to be injury free come October’s UFC Fight Night 30.
Multiple sources are reporting that Taylor has once again signed to fight Anthony Njokuani.
The two were originally set to fight at UFC 138 in England, but Taylor came up injured. They tried again for UFC on FUEL TV 4, but Taylor once again got bit by the injury bug. Injuries kept Taylor out of a Donald Cerrone fight in 2011.
Taylor – who last fought at UFC 126 – stands 11-6 while Njokuani is 16-7.
UFC Fight Night 30 takes place Oct. 26 at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. The main card will air on FOX Sports 2. FOX Sports 2 will be a rebrand from FUEL TV.
Taylor won his most recent UFC fight, finishing Gabe Ruediger in February 2011. His UFC debut came at UFC 70 in Manchester, with a win over Edilberto de Oliveira. He then lost three of his next four but all three of those losses resulted in “Fight of the Night” bonuses.
Njokuani has won two of three fights, including a knockout of Roger Bowling at UFC on FOX 7 in April. But he has bounced between wins and losses the past three years without being able to put together a win streak.
Here is what UFC Fight Night in Manchester is shaping up to be so far:
Michael Bisping vs. Mark Munoz
Melvin Guillard vs. Ross Pearson
Phil Harris vs. John Lineker
Anthony Njokuani vs. Paul Taylor
