All 26 fighters competing in tomorrow’s UFC Fight for the Troops 3 successfully made weight today at the Sabre Air Field as Fort Campbell in Kentucky.
The main event fighters, Tim Kennedy and Rafael Natal, weighed in at 186 pounds and 185.5 pounds, respectively. Natal took the fight on late notice after Lyoto Machida was pulled to fight at UFC Fight Night 30. Kennedy served in the military for 10 years.
Co-main event fighters Liz Carmouche and Alexis Davis weighed in at 135 and 134 respectively. Carmouche served three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan as a Marine, and will be attempting to win two straight fights after her title loss to UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
Colton Smith and Michael Chiesa were both on target for a lightweight scrap of “Ultimate Fighter” winners. Chiesa weighed in at 156 pounds, and Smith weighed in at 155.5 pounds.
Jorge Masvidal, who weighed in at 155.5 pounds, and Rustam Khabilov, who weighed in at 155 pounds will be competing in tomorrow’s event, and they engaged in the most heated stare down of the day.
Ronny Markes, who fights for the first time since a minor car accident on the same day as weigh ins took him out of a fight against Derek Brunson at UFC on Fuel TV 10, weighed in at 185.5 pounds. His opponent, Yoel Romero, also weighed in at 185.5 pounds.
