UFC Confirms Three Scheduled Canadian Shows In 2012 | GSP vs. Condit Likely For UFC 154

Today the UFC held a special press conference in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to announce the company’s intentions with the country over the next several years.

UFC president Dana White confirmed that the promotion is poised to have three shows in 2012 and plans to continue that trend for the next 24-months.

The three-annual promised events will start off with UFC 149 in Calgary on July 21st, the UFC will then head to Toronto for UFC 152 on September 22nd and will round out the calendar year in Canada with UFC 154 in Montreal on November 17th.

The November date in Montreal lines up perfectly with UFC welterweight champion, Georges St.-Pierre’s expected return date and the promotion as well as GSP hope to put on the Condit vs. GSP title unification bout on this card.

All three announced shows will be pay-per-view. No UFC Fan Expo’s or other special events are planned to coincide with these events.

  1. magoo says:

Nice Georges gets to Kick Condits ass in his backyard.

  2. GSP.Sucks says:

I hate how they try to give GSP every advantage possible. Have GSP and Condit fight in a neutral location, not in Canada when you have the whole country behind GSP. Fuck you UFC for playing favorites.

    • GSP. does not. says:

      Where did GSP fight Hardy?

      Where did GSP right Alves?

      Where did GSP fight Penn?

      Where did GSP fight Fitch?

Where did GSP fight Hughes both times?

Where did GSP fight Trigg, Mayhem, and BJ the first time?

He’s fought in Canada 4 times in 18 UFC appearances. So let me ask you this?

Where did your mother get the laces for her Doc Martens? Because you’re a fucking idiot.

Where was GSP supposed to fight Diaz?

      • toneloc24 says:

Thank u. Some people are such morons its unbelievable

      • Dick Diaz says:

        +1
And stillllllllllll the Welterweight Champion Of The Worldddddddddd…

      • GSP.Sucks says:

Wow fucking idiot. How many championship bouts has Anderson Silva fought in Brazil? One? Get a clue before you try to sound smart, dumbass. It is obvious that the UFC is tryin to give GSP an advantage since he is #1 PPV draw. But you probably didn’t know that either, stupid shit.

      • GSP.Sucks says:

GSP should fight Diaz in Vegas, obviously. Dumbass.

        • K2 says:

Ohhh, you mean Nevada. Right next door to California. And I’m more a Diaz fan than a GSP fan but listen to yourself. “They shouldn’t fight in Canada cause that’s good for GSP. They should fight in USA.” Where the Hell is Diaz from? Damn, should they rent a boat and go 12nm off the coast into international waters? And if I was Champ and had the opportunity to fight in my own country then I would probably try to get it set up. C’mon dude.

      • charlie says:

he was supposed to fight diaz in vegas, before he suddenly got “injured” and had to pull out.

now that the UFC is planning on going back up to montreal, he’ll be fine. he hasn’t fought outside of canada in 2 years.

you’re a “fucking idiot” if you don’t think the UFC has done everything to bend over backwards for this guy.

first he’s scared to fight diaz, so they cancel that fight and give him condit. then carlos gets a lot of hype, so he twists an ankle or something and can’t fight that fight. then he clamors about wanting to fight nick so bad…so they give him that fight again….then he hurts himself….blah, blah, blah. this guy barely even fights when he’s in the cage, which is like once a year.
it’s a disgrace, really. i can’t believe there are so many mindless bandwagon-jumping idiots out there supporting this guy.

      • oh jeez says:

wow…i’m not sure where you were going with this, but fuck…i wish my mom wore doc martins!

your superior wit must have just blown right over my head, because i have no idea why it would matter where this kid’s mom got her shoe laces…or how that makes him an idiot. i must be an idiot, too.

    • Mike McMack says:

It’s good for ticket sales if one of the main eventers is fighting in their hometown. Canada wants to see GSP fight and the UFC makes bankroll when he fights in the Great White North. It’s not about giving GSP the advantage it’s all about making that money. GSP as boring as he is makes more money for the UFC than any other fighter and that includes Brock when he was active.

  3. Justen says:

I hope Condit knocks him out or subs him.

  4. D says:

GONNA BE A BORING ASS FIGHT!

    • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

I think it’s going to be GSP’s best fight in a long time. Since Diaz he’s been looking hungry again.

  5. BJC says:

Ya like there is going to be 100,000 fans in the cage to help him you Dipshit!

  6. Scary says:

Fighting in your home country and city is not always to your advantage. It carries with it, it’s own added pressures and emotions. I am not Canadian but if I was I sure would feel better about myself every morning!

  7. Dano the clown says:

    I like boys!

  8. true mma says:

Fuck going to Canada. Do more fights in the us.

    • magoo says:

how bout fuck you ….I think I know mma!!!

    • bertram says:

fuck USA and its idiot citizens, canada is full of savages and mma and hockey are our sports! besides, we get 3 events a year, the us gets like 20

      • Thurgood Jenkins says:

Did you just refer to your countrymen as savages?

      • ricardo says:

        Canada “savages”?
        GTFO

        • stevo the great says:

How does a country of “Savages” not even have an army? You rely on the US to protect you? What was the last war Canada won? Or was even in? Yeah what a bunch of savages…..LMFAO. Your claim to fame is GreaseSP? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Just ask him about Anderson? Or that super fight…..watch his balls shrivel up. All the grese in the world wouldn’t save him. GSP fights 20+ lbs over WW, so he is laying and gaying on smaller guys. What a real bitch move. Some champ, more like a chump.

  9. true mma says:

Bullshit, condit vs Diaz should be in Vegas.

  10. true mma says:

What I meant that just like condit vs Diaz, condit vs GSP should be in Vegas. @ magoo you say know mma but you think ***** Sonnen is the camp. You fucking dumbass. You believe Sonnen dumbass. Buy its like they say stupid fucks are always in pairs.

  11. big al says:

It’s about time the uk got shown some love and were given a couple of big shows! It seems that we are not that important because we are a small country, whereas brazil, usa and canada are more important. The ufc has a massive uk following but are not rewarded for our loyalty.come on dana sort it out.p.s i hope gsp is successful in his return and dominates the ww division once again.B.A

  12. Zack says:

How much longer is Gsp gunna milk. Supposedly had this huge surgery then a month later In the gym but can’t fight till November? Not enough time to cycle the roids?

    • C says:

He was in the gym rehabilitating the injury. It takes time to recover from tearing an ACL for him to even be expected 10 months after tearing it is pretty hopeful as well. As far as steroids go come on man don’t just go accusing everyone of using. He really has no attributes that are applicable to that of steroid usage. I hate GSP’s fighting style and hope he gets his ass knocked out but I’m not one to talk shit about him for no reason.

      • uhh says:

actually, he has been accused of this for years by many UFC fighters and trainers. he has pretty much all the signs of someone who uses, to go along with his infrequent fighting schedule. it’s not a stretch to think he’s cycling. sure he hasn’t been caught yet, but the organization just does a shitty job of checking for the right things.

if he fought more, or they had actual random testing, i’m pretty sure he’d have popped by now.

  13. true mma says:

Get the fuck out here saying mma is Canada’s sport. The only sport that is Canada’s is hockey. But who and the fuck wants to watch hockey.

    • K2 says:

You forgot curling. And hockey pretty good. At least you can play defense like a man in hockey. Unlike faggotball, I mean basketball.

    • uhh says:

hockey is by far the greatest sport of all time.
mma is fun to train and cool to watch, but don’t act like hockey is somehow less important. it’s an amazing sport, full of some of the toughest athletes in the world. just because you don’t get it, don’t think others are as dumb as you.

  14. true mma says:

GSP is going to lay and pray that running fool all the way to a decision. This one for sure don’t expect a dog fight.

  15. oh jeez says:

hey i’ve got an idea….let’s let GSP fight in canada. it’s not like we’ve done that before. great idea! maybe we can get bisping and hardy to fight in england too…

  16. slacker says:

GSP will have problems with Condit’s Muay Thai style and bottom game. It’s gonna be a good fight. Plus, Condit is tougher than Georges mentally. Look at how Georges reacted to Diaz after the Penn fight compared to Condit’s composure during his fight with Diaz. Significant edge there.
