UFC Confirms Dates for UFC 157, UFC on Fuel 7 & UFC on Fuel 8
Last night on Fuel TV’s UFC Tonight it was announced that the UFC has set dates for three upcoming events in 2013. All but one has a location.
UFC 157 will take place on February 23 in Anaheim, CA. The last time the organization was at the Honda Center Junior Dos Santos knocked out Cain Velasquez to win the UFC Heavyweight Championship on UFC on Fox 1. No bouts have been announced or rumored as of yet.
There will be two UFC on Fuel TV cards within two within two weeks as UFC on Fuel TV 7 will be held on February 16, but there was no announcement on any fights or a location. On March 2nd the UFC will return to Japan for the first time since UFC 144 this past February. This card will be the eighth card presented on the Fuel TV network.
The UFC is kicking off 2013 with UFC on FX 7 in Brazil that will feature a main event pitting middleweight contenders Michael Bisping and Vitor Belfort against one another. One week later they will invade Chicago with UFC on Fox 6 where will see Demetrious Johnson attempt to defend his flyweight title for the first time against John Dodson.
After that card they will host UFC 156 in February followed by UFC on Fuel TV 6, UFC 157 and UFC on Fuel 8. A lot of cards with the majority of them on free television. What a great way to start the new year.
