UFC Boss Says Weidman Title Shot Against Silva Is A Possible Reality | UFC NEWS
“I think that fight’s closer and more possible than people think. I actually thought Weidman was going to be out a lot longer than he was because of his injury, but he’s healed up pretty well and is claiming he’ll be ready to start training again in a couple months,” White revealed when speaking to UFC Tonight.
“We’re looking at a couple of different options right now, some options that we like, and Weidman’s one of them.”

No doubt, looks like there’s going to be some butt hurt people after the fight reading some of the comments below. It’s going to be either Weidman or Lombard dethroning Silva.
At this point, it would take a pretty ignorant person to dispute that Weidman deserves the shot considering the state of the division. However, it takes an even more ignorant person to even suggest Weidman winning the fight is a possibility.

This is ridiculous! Weidman was too hurt to fight Tim, and was expecting to come back in Late in the year. Silva announced his return in Spring, Bisping and Belcher are set to figth and all of sudden Weidman is healed.

No, Weidman can’t beat Anderson Silva. No matter how much he says “I have the tools to beat him” he doesn’t. Weidman would get beat up by Chael Sonnen on the ground and would get beat up on the feet by Belfort and look what happened to them.

every1 els who is or was a top contender is being ****ed over.. michael bisping, yushin okami, hector lombard, vitor belfort, tim boesch, alan belcher & even johny hendricks.. they are all fighting but chris weidman, nick diaz & chael sonnen get instant title fights.
well 123 bisping lost to vitor, vitor lost to silva, and then jones, okami lost to silva, boesch lost to okami…. the MW division is all jacked up its a mess. i personally dont think weidman deserves a title shot, well let me rephrase that he isn’t ready for that title shot… i think they should set him up against belfort and go from there but either way you look at it no one is really ready to dethrone silva in the MW division… but you never know i guess?

This guy has the worst fight i’ve ever seen beating Demian Maia(yeah i know short notice dropped 30lbs yeah yeah yea) and beats Munoz fresh off an injury and all of the sudden he’s going to beat Anderson? Bisping, Belfort, and Sonnon all would beat Weidman. That being said, I’d gladly watch the Spider abuse him. Make the fight Dana.
