UFC Boss Confirms Nick Diaz Missing Multiple Countdown Show Appearances | UFC NEWS

Nick Diaz does not play well with others. Everyone in the MMA world knows this. UFC President Dana White knows this. When White told reporters that Diaz has not shown up for three separate interviews to promote the fight, it should have been no shock to anyone, because it wasn’t to him.
White was asked about if he would encourage fighters to start doing video blogs the week of their scheduled fights. This led to the reporter saying Diaz would be an interesting vlog to watch. “Nick Diaz would be an interesting Countdown show too if we could get him to show up for those,” White responded. “Imagine how good his Countdown show would be. F–king think his video blog would be great? How about if he had a professionally shot, by professionals, the best in the business, the best at cutting and producing features on athletes, imagine how f–king good that would be. First we’ve got to get him to show up for the f–king interviews, and then we can do it. He missed, how many did he miss? Four? Three. He’s missed three.”
He’s done this before; Diaz was awarded a title shot for his first appearance in the UFC following an impressive run at Welterweight in Strikeforce. After defending his title against Paul Daley he vacated the title to fight GSP for the UFC Welterweight championship at UFC 137. After missing multiple flights and press conferences White made the move to pull Diaz’s shot and gave it to Carlos Condit.
Diaz was also supposed to show up at the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo in 2012. He was set to fight Braulio Estima in a charity grappling match, but once again no-showed with zero explanation. A pattern has been set by Diaz, this is how he rolls.
“He showed up for the press conference. I knew something was going to go bad somewhere,” White said. “It’s just, that’s Nick.” Dana White could have summed it up by saying, “Same ol’ Diaz.”
Promoting fights is a part of the business; Diaz has never been a fan of doing any kind of promotions. He has always been an awkward interview. Watch any interview Diaz has done, you can tell by the way he answers questions and his body language that he has no interest in being there. The fact of the matter is he is an interesting character, and most importantly an entertaining fighter.
Nick Diaz is set to face Georges St. Pierre at UFC 158 on March 16th in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is not in the title fight because he earned it (he lost his last fight and is coming off a year suspension for failing his post UFC 143 fight drug test) it’s because St. Pierre wanted to fight him. Don’t expect White to pull this title shot from Diaz, because of that fact.

Good fighter but complete ass clown. Doesnt matter if he can actually pass the drug test or not he will not be ww champion. He has nothing to offer gsp. Everything he does well gsp has beat guys who did it better. Bring on Hendricks
According to Cesar Nick finished up his video shoots last week.. Wonder if Dana is trying to stir up some shit for more media attention??..
yeh nick’s lawyer already said that dana’s just hyping some shit or is ill-informed. nicks crew were only informed about ONE date for the shooting, not 3. he did show up to his scheduled filming
Listen, if Mike Tyson, the most f-ed up mental case to ever lace up gloves in a combat sport, could meet his media obligations then I have no sympathy for Diaz’s dislike of the press. The bottom line is GSP does not need him. There will be no doubt when he retires that he cleaned his division out. Nick Diaz is a gateway WW, not a top dog. Condit beat him (although by a razor thin margin), Hendricks would as well in my opinion. I would like to see him fight Coscheck. That would be entertaining. Either that or go fight in a promotion where you can dictate the conditions because no fighter is bigger than the UFC.
This already got resolved. Nick made all the meetings he was informed about. Way to go.
