UFC Books Alex Caceres vs. Cole Escovedo for UFC on Fox 1
The fan favorite who never stops smiling, Alex “Bruce Leroy” Caceres has apparently made the commitment to drop yet another weight class and take on bantamweight fighter Cole Escovedo in his 135 pound debut.
The two have agreed to face off on November 12 in Anaheim California.
“Both bantamweights had non-stop action fights in their last outings and are sure to do the same Nov. 12,” UFC president Dana White stated.
UFC on Fox 1 is set to take place from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on November 12. Headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion, Cain Velasquez and contender, Junior Dos Santos the event marks the first UFC event on the network and the start of a 7-year broadcast deal between the two sports powerhouses.
A cast member on “TUF” season 12, Caceres entered the UFC as a lightweight but was eliminated in the semifinals on the reality series by Michael Johnson. He then went on to make his official UFC debut at featherweight but lost via submission to the much stronger and more experienced Mackens Semerzier at Fight Night 24. He was last seen in action at UFC on Versus 5 in an exciting bout against Jimmy Hettes. He took a second defeat to him via submission and apparently that defeat prompted his decision to move down yet one more weight class.
His opponent comes in the form of Cole Escovedo.
Escovedo was last seen in action just last month losing by TKO to Takeya Mizugaki on the UFC 135 preliminary card. The loss marked his second in two UFC outings and he likely fights for his life this November against “Bruce Leroy”.
