UFC announces UFC Fight Pass Network, Free Two Month Pass
UFC officials announced UFC Fight Pass, a new digital subscription service, today during a pre-fight special press conference. The UFC, in an obvious attempt to ease the blow of the rise of pay-per-view events, launches this new service with an apparent two month free trial. Something that catches the fan’s eye more so is the promise of a minimum of 10 exclusive live events per year! Also promised to fans is a plethora of other goodies for the die hard fight fan such as exclusive live prelims, exclusive content from the UFC, and also on demand access to Zuffa’s huge library of MMA videos.
“We’re very excited to announce this unique subscription service for our great fans,” said UFC President Dana White. “As the demand for live UFC events around the world continues to increase, we’ve responded by planning more big shows in international markets in local primetime. In 2014, there are going to be more international events than ever before – but we wanted to make sure that fans around the world could see these fights too.
“The UFC has always been ahead of the game when it comes to new media and new technology. We are putting together some sick cards in international markets and with UFC Fight Pass fans never have to miss a single UFC event, no matter where in the world the fights are taking place.”
Fight fans that subscribe to UFC Fight Pass can plan on having access to three confirmed UFC International Fight Night events. UFC Fight Night: Saffiedine vs Lim has been announced for January 4th of the new year along with UFC London 2014: Gustafsson vs Manuwa on March 8th. All cards plan on featuring top 10 raked fighters facing off in significant fights. This also includes exclusive places to view live preliminary bouts. Fight fans can also look forward to more than nine live fights per month they have never before seen access to the largest MMA video library on the planet.
“Zuffa has the biggest fight library on the planet,” said White. “With a UFC Fight Pass subscription, fans will get access to thousands of fights from the entire history of the sport. This is what fans have always wanted – we are giving them the keys to the candy store. Subscribers will be able to watch, on demand, the greatest fights and greatest fighters in the entire history of this sport. And I mean everything, from Royce Gracie, Matt Hughes, Chuck Liddell and Anderson Silva, to Frank Shamrock, Wanderlei Silva, Kazushi Sakuraba and Fedor Emelianenko.”
Now, this doesn’t simply include content from the UFC. This includes over a hundred hours of content from the older, and beloved, organizations such as Pride FC, Pride Bushido, Strikeforce, EliteXC, and even organizations like The World Fighting Alliance, Affliciton Entertainment and World Extreme Cagefighting.
UFC Fight Pass has loads of additional goodies for all fight fans such as behind-the-scene content, fighters diaries, UFC By the Numbers, UFC Upfront, UFC Fight Camp Insider and also training tips from UFC professionals. Fans can also plan on getting the latest information about highly anticipated programs like The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil with coaches Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen.
“If you are a fight fan, UFC Fight Pass is for you,” adds UFC President Dana White.
Planned to launch initially in the United States, Canada, New Zealand and Australia with a $9.99 price tag per month UFC Fight Pass sounds like a fight fan’s dream come true. And with a free two month trial scheduled from now through February 28, 2014 it’s definitely something fight fan’s should check out.
