UFC And Fox Looking To Return In May For Third Network Show
“The third FOX special will be on 5/5, which is notable because that will likely be the night of a major boxing PPV most likely involving Mayweather, and they’ll promote it as if the MMA fights will be over before the Mayweather fight starts.”
Dave Meltzer, editor of the Wrestling Observer newsletter, is reporting that the UFC and Fox are targeting May 5th for their third network show. Similar to their network debut this past November, the UFC could potentially be running on the same night as a major boxing event, as Floyd Mayweather may also be fighting that night. The first UFC network show, this past November, also happened to fall on the same night that Manny Pacquaio and Juan Manuel Marquez had their third encounter.
While no main event has been set, expect the UFC to continue it’s string of putting on big fights for the network masses, as the bar already set high coming off a heavyweight title fight, and the two upcoming title eliminator fights between Sonnen/Munoz, and Evans/Davis.
