‘UFC 167′ Bonus Winners: GSP/Hendricks, Cerrone and Woodley

Knockout of the Night: Tyron Woodley
Tyron Woodley walked into the fight knowing he had knockout power in his right hand, but he wanted to share that fact with the world. The fight opened up with a flurry from Woodley that sent Koscheck wobbling around the octagon, but Woodley could not capitalize right away. Minutes later, Koscheck would eat another vicious right hand that stunned him. Before he could even hit the ground, Woodley connected with another punch that put a nail in the proverbial coffin. This was Woodley’s second knockout in the UFC.

Submission of the Night: Donald Cerrone
Donald Cerrone softened Evan Dunham up with a barrage of strikes that left Dunham battered and bruised. Cerrone was soon wearing Dunham’s blood, but Dunham is a game opponent and refused to go down without a fight. He absorbed a lot of punishment in the first round to the point where the referee almost stopped the action, but he managed to escape to the second round. In the middle of the second round, Cerrone found himself on the bottom after allowing Dunham to sneak out of a disadvantageous position. Cerrone locked up a triangle almost immediately on the bottom and put the fight away, earning yet another post fight bonus.

Fight of the Night: Georges St. Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks
It was a close contest— probably a little too close for the comfort of Georges St. Pierre. The fight saw both men in danger multiple times throughout the fight and it was the first time St. Pierre was in real danger of losing his championship belt. As a matter of fact, everyone ranging from Johny Hendricks to the UFC President Dana White himself thought there should have been a new champion crowned. We may never see the rematch take place, though, as GSP claimed he was temporarily hanging up his gloves after tonight.
