UFC 164 Bonus Winners: Pettis, Lim, Krause, and Mendes Earn 50K

Following such a great night of fights and countless finishes at UFC 164, most MMA fans are probably anxious to see who captured the coveted bonuses for most impressive performances. As always, BJPENN.COM has got you covered!

The bonuses are as follows:

Fight of The Night was awarded to Hyung Gyu Lim and Pascal Krauss for their back and forth slug-fest on the preliminary card. The fight was stopped in the first following crippling blows from Lim, but not before Krause was able to land bombs of his own in a crazy war.

Submission of The Night went to the newly crowned lightweight champion Anthony Pettis. Pettis captured the title via a beautiful armbar at the end of the first round, leaving Benson Henderson with no option but to verbally submit.

Finally, Knockout of The Night was given to Chad “Money” Mendes, who finished a man who had never been finished in Clay Guida. Mendes countered Guida in the open of the third round, landing a huge overhand right that led to the TKO finish.

Each of the bonus winners received a sweet $50,000, and each of these bonuses was well earned.

I just want to say that I’m not an official mma analyst and like many we all have opinion but at least I never outright said Pettis didn’t stand a chance like some people.

  2. Nick says:

haha Pettis is badass, calling out Aldo right after winning the LW belt. That’s how all champs should be.

  3. Thesire says:

The days are beginning where fighters compete in multiple weight classes to fight harder opponents. I just hope mma doesn’t get carried away with weight classes like boxing did
