UFC 162 Main Card Finalized, Tickets On Sale Next Week

Get ready for fireworks fight fans.

UFC 162 Silva vs Weidman takes place July 6th at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada and the main card is officially locked and ready to go. The event will be host to the UFC’s annual 4th of July Pay-Per View card, and as usual the UFC does not disappoint. Tickets are set to go on sale next week and the event will follow yet another UFC Fan Expo at the Mandalay Bay Event Center in the days prior to UFC 162.

The headliner pits the Jedi Knight and UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva against the young and talented contender Chris Weidman. This will be ‘The Spider’s’ 17th trip to the octagon, and the modern-day ninja still has yet to taste defeat in the UFC. While the Serra-Longo protégé Chris Weidman looks to stay undefeated in his MMA career and derail the p4p king. Weidman campaigned for a fight with Silva and feels he has the tools to take out the greatest of all time, while Silva looks to continue his display of magnificence with yet another title defense.

The co-main event features former UFC lightweight champion, recently turned featherweight competitor Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar squaring off with the young and talented Charles ‘Do Bronx’ Oliveira. Other exciting match-ups featured on the main card include a fight between Strikeforce imports as Roger Gracie faces Tim Kennedy. Also a pair of fights that will hopefully propel a clear contender to the featherweight strap as ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung is set to face Ricardo Lamas, and Dennis Siver will square up with Cub Swanson.

The preliminary card will air on FX and features a line-up of great fights as well. Tim ‘The Barbarian’ Boetsch will welcome Mark Munoz back to the cage after a long layoff, and Edson Barboza looks to stay in the win column as he battles with John Makdessi. Prelims will air at 8pm EST and 5pm PT on FX, check your local listings.

Will Weidman dethrone ‘The Spider’? Will Frankie Edgar rebound from a title defeat in impressive fashion? Will ‘The Korean Zombie’ take another step towards the title? Tune in to find out! UFC 162 will be live on Pay-Per View July 6th at 10pm EST and 7pm PT. Don’t forget tickets go on sale next week, to purchase tickets click here.
