UFC 160 RESULTS: TJ Grant defeats Gray Maynard via TKO 1st round

After Donald Cerrone dominated KJ Noons it was on to Gray Maynard vs. TJ Grant.

TJ Grant and Gray Maynard came out swinging from the first bell with TJ eating some shots. About halfway through the round TJ connected with a right hand to drop Maynard, TJ swarmed in while Gray tried to survive but was hit with a knee as he tried to escape along the cage, the referee steps in and calls it a fight.

TJ Grant wins via TKO in the first round.

TJ Grant now moves up the 155 pound ladder and wants to fight Benson Henderson next.

    TJs striking looked great, so did his chin! I think he may have retired Gray the weiner Maynard…. Bring on Benson.

    Respect to TJ, he looked impressive. Bit premature to suggest retirement for Maynard, I still think he’s a top 5 LW.

    No surprise. Like I have said time and time again, Maynard is way overrated. Striking is below average at best. Only thing he had was size over the other guys at LW. He would lose to the top 30% of the current LW roster.

    TJ looked great in there.Came in to bang and brought a lot of intensity with him.As far as Maynard,I would disagree about being retired.He’s been around a long time and that’s only his second loss.Give him a break,Every dog has his day
