UFC 158 Medical suspensions released: Nate Marquardt out for 60 days | UFC NEWS

The Quebec Boxing Commission released the medical suspensions for all the fighters that competed on the UFC 158 card. The event featured Georges St. Pierre retaining his UFC Welterweight title against Nick Diaz. The lengthiest suspension of 60-days was given to Nate Marquardt.

Marquardt suffered a vicious KO in the first round at the hands of Jake Ellenberger. Anytime a fighter is KO’d there will be a lengthy medical suspension for the safety of the fighter’s health. No major injuries were reported for any fighter at the event.

There was speculation that Johny Hendricks broke his left hand at some point during the fight with Carlos Condit, he was given just a 14-day suspension.  A good sign that Hendricks’s hand is just fine and negotiations for him fighting GSP should begin soon.

A complete list of medical suspensions listed below (via Bleacher Report):

Georges St-Pierre: 28-day rest period
Nick Diaz: 28-day rest period
Johny Hendricks: 14-day rest period
Carlos Condit: 14-day rest period
