UFC 157 Results: Fighters Deliver In Historic Event | UFC NEWS

Tonight at Anaheim’s Honda Center the UFC held its first ever bout contested between two female athletes.

In the main event Ronda Rousey successfully defended her title for the first time and earned the right to finally call herself a UFC Champion.

Challenger Liz Carmouche put made a valiant effort and put Rousey in a compromising position early, but the champion persevered and finished the bout via her signature arm bar in the very first round.

In the co-main event a pivotal light-heavyweight fight went down between Lyoto Machida and Dan Henderson. After 15-minutes of action Machida walked away the victor via split-decision. The victory likely sets him up for a second shot against UFC champion Jon Jones.

The rest of the card was packed with entertaining bouts that surely left the California crowd feeling the night was more than worth the price of admission.

  1. The natural says:

Dana whites done it again. They acted and sold this fight as if there were never any female fights that existed before this event. Also, either gave away a shit load of tickets or sold them at half price to get 15,000 people at event with only 1.4 mill wen that’s only half of last time they had 14,000 people at 2.8 mill at UFC 121 but Dana will still lie his face off and media suckers will continue to destroy what’s genuine about mma. Good thing the rest of the card delivered

  2. The natural says:

UFC 156 had 10,000 people in attendence and sold 2.4 million not fishey at all

  3. Fill says:

@TheNatural, shit you little cockwatcher, the co-main event was the most boring fight I’ve ever seen with no clear winner, the crowd should have started booing 10 seconds into round 1. So you had to watch two women fight, at least they fought. It’s all about starin at men’s packages to you you can take a 1 fight break from cockwatching can’t you?

  4. magoo says:

Lame sauce card the pub I usually watch the fights in didn’t even have then on….lmao. Ps I still hate Rousey and now she’ll have a bigger mouth and ego! Santos come show this one trick bitch what it’s like to actually fight!

  6. Sasquatch says:

LOL.. it’s sounding like I saved myself 50 bones! Rousey first round armbar, what a surprise seeing that’s her one and only trick. Anyways on to some real news.. What’s up with Aldo refusing to fight Pettis!?.. Aldo’s manager saying “We don’t think he deserves it, he might be the number one guy at 155 (pounds), but how does that make him the number one (at 145 pounds)”,what BS!. Good thing Dana’s shutting that sh!t down.. looks like Aldo has no choice!

    • T.DADDY says:

the number1 guy at 55..LMAO.. HE lost to Guida who is ranked 10th…LMAO… Dude get off Pettis nuts already… he dont deserve to fight Aldo… he gets raped by wrestlers and Frankie.. Maynard.. Guida.. Benson would all have ther way with one trick pony pettis… you always bringin this chump up and the post aint about him…. LMAO

  7. Case says:

Sasquatch you actually buy the PPV in your home? Any Buffalo Wild Wings shows the fights free. Champs Sports bar charges 5 bucks admission. Most local sports bars do it on an admission basis 5 to 8 bucks. I know Dana is lovin people that pay 50 to watch it all by themselves but you could certainly make better decisions. I think it’s more likely you are a hater that wants someone to THINK you would have spent 50 dollars to watch the fight alone if only women didn’t fight.

    • Sasquatch says:

Think what you want Case but I don’t have a Buffalo Wild Wings or Champs Sports Bar where I live so I don’t have too many options. I either buy them myself if it’s a worthy card or I get together with a few buddies and pitch in on them.. have some beers and wagers. Besides I can’t see how going to the bar and paying an admission and then bar priced beers and food are going to save you money. All I can tell you is there wasn’t too much interest in last nights card here so call it what you want.

      • magoo says:

I’m with you bro my wife makes an awesome spread of wings and finger munchies for our guest when ever we get a ppv. Waaay better then watching it at any sports bar with a bunch of drunken jig a boos!! The beers always cold and all my buds are stoked for fight night….. Just not 157 we were all on the same page no one bought it! Go figure. Lol

        • Sasquatch says:

Haha right on Magoo!. It’s kind of nice to throw the odd smoke break in there too and the bars around here frown at that sort of thing.. I don’t live in Amsterdam if you know what I’m sayin.
