Programming Reminder | UFC 145: Jones vs. Evans "Primetime" Special Airs Tonight On FX

The light-heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Rashad Evans is without a doubt one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the year. The UFC and FX brass have apparently acknowledged that fact and as a result, will be releasing a three-part countdown to UFC 145 series in the infamous “UFC Primetime” format.

UFC 145: Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans goes down in Atlanta Georgia on April 21st and will be broadcast live on pay-per-view from the Phillips Arena.

The first episode in the three-part series is set to air tonight, at 11 p.m. ET on FX and the following episodes will air in the same time slot each week following. (April 13 & 20)

This will mark the second installment of the Primetime series on FX, the first of which was the highly acclaimed Diaz vs. Condit special.

  1. Matt says:

Isn’t it the same time as TUF. Someone didn’t think this one through

  2. Jake says:

    It’s actually after TUF buddy

  3. slacker says:

It was a good Primetime. It’s too bad about their friendship. From this footage, it looks like Greg Jackson really messed up. He should have kept his word and agreed to corner Rashad. But then, we don’t know how the whole conversation went either.

    • Fredo says:

This whole thing really tarnished the image of Jackson. Makes everyone question what goes on in that camp. He is on serious image cleaning campaign, while that striking coach Wallace made the camp look more like shit just talking crap about rashad.

If Jackson wants to save face I wouldn’t even been near the ring that night.

    • Tyson says:

One of my co-workers at DISH is a huge Rashad fan and this morning he asked me what I thought about the whole friendship between Rashad and Jones. I didn’t know what to say – I didn’t even know that there was going to be a little drama behind this fight. After watching the first episode of the primetime special, I’m eager to see if Jackson will show his face and if he’ll have anything to say if he does show up. I’m definitely ordering this fight in HD through DISH, even though I’m a little more interested in the drama than the fight.

  4. MARV3L0US says:

I can’t wait to watch this fight, these guys are training hard may the best fighter win.

  5. DMAC says:

Rashad probably has the best prime times aside BJ, real ass dudes giving you real emotions.

Jackson and winkle Jon just seem like scumbags IMO. Drop the guy that helped bring eyes to Jackson’s for the new flavor of the year.

    • Kramer says:

^agree. camp laynprey look like douches throughout that whole thing. Rashad is nothin but pure realtalk.

rashad is going to win dis fight

  6. Rey Rey says:

You know I thought that part of Rashad exposing that Jones copies him, on how he crawls into the octagon and that right before the fight he crotches down. That he got it from him. Looking at the footage its like wow he does!

    • overeem the roider says:

readin wat u put i had to double check it n dam u rite dat was sum crazy stuff. bones is a copy cat. surprised homeboy rogan didnt say shit about it he always talkin crap bout every1 else b4 fights

  7. slacker says:

Basically, from what I am gathering from how Rashad dissected the fight with Rampage and Jones, Rashad is probably going to pull a Chael Sonnen vs. Anderson Silva, and just try to blast through Jones’ defense with punches and then wrestle him down. I hope he does because that would be a real exciting fight. Finally, we would get to see Jones tested under adversity and if he uses this tactic, I think it will be real effective. Rashad has the explosiveness and size to make it work. Rashad is right when he says that you cannot watch him. I am really hoping for an upset here.

  8. sammy baptista says:

    WAR RASHAD

  9. chris says:

Hate that font for some reason.

  10. maurice says:

wats with all this rashad luv?? last time dude looked like a monster was in the 3rd round of the forrest fight. but that was the same fight where griffin was thoroughly oustriking rashad until he got taken down and finished in his guard…like always. he looked like a scared bitch against rampage, minus the first 20 secs of the fight. he fought thiago silva like a bitch as well. the dude has a unimpressive win over tito fucking ortiz. and not the prime tito, the old, out of excuses, time to retire tito. and a very very very unimpressive win over phil davis. i luv how every1 just ignores how fucking horrible the phil davis fight was. im not a jones fan, only because i think he’s overhyped and he beat my top lhw favs in rampage, shogun and machida. but the dude is legit, and imo rashad is the easiest fight he’s had since brandon vera. like seriously, rashad is so overrated its unbelievable. ILL BET ANY1 ON THIS SITE, AFTER JONES DESTROYS RASHAD INSIDE ROUND 1, RASHAD WILL RETIRE.

  11. maurice says:

ILL TAKE THAT BET! you see rashad has one of the weakest chins in the lhw division. when he gets hit clean, he doesnt just wobble, or have to reset. his legs give completly out and he falls over. just like in the machida, page and thiago silva fights. now imagine if jones lands a elbow, or a shin across shads jaw…simply put, rashad cant survive any of the shots jones hit machida, shogun or page with. shad will be put away in the 1st round. i guarantee it.

    • James says:

How can this be arranged? I am not trying to claim Rashad is gonna win. I just don’t see him going down in the first.

  12. maurice says:

honestly, rashad looked at his best in the 3rd round of his fight with forrest. since then, rashad has gotten knocked out by machida. decided to turn into a complete humper against page and thiago silva. looked absolutely horrible against tito ortiz. and looked even worse against a complete nobody in phil davis. im still trying to figure out how the hell the winner of the epic 25 min war between shogun and hendo got beat out of a title shot to the winner of that 25 min embarrassment in rashad vs davis. i mean really?!! my friends the biggest shad fan..still dont understand why, and when we all got together to watch the davis fight he was disgusted. but i will say this, i luved the davis vs evans fight. never laughed that hard at a ufc fight since shad vs machida. bones is going to hurt shad bad, watch.

  13. maurice says:

ill put it this way. if there was one lhw bj could move up in weight and possibly ko, it would be shad.

    • slacker says:

I really don’t know what you are seeing in Rashad’s fights. He has a good chin. In the Machida fight, he took 3 or 4 real good shots before he went down. In the Rampage and Silva fights, he took heavy shots and was able to recover – those guys got big power! As for Jones, his chin hasn’t been tested yet. He took one good shot from Machida and he thinks he is the man. I think he is going to be humbled in this fight a lot, even if he manages to pull this one out. It’s gonna be a tough, tough fight for him. Toughest yet.
