UFC 139 Prelims Special on Spike to Feature Ryan Bader vs. Jason Brilz & Tom Lawlor vs. Chris Weidman

UFC and Spike TV officials have decided to feature Ryan Bader vs. Jason Brilz and Tom Lawlor vs. Chris Weidman on the Live on Spike UFC 139 Preliminary Card Special.

UFC 139 is set to take place on November 19th at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. With the original heavyweight title fight headliner between champ Cain Velasquez and Junior Santos moving from UFC 139 to UFC on FOX 1 the organization has decided to go with a non-title affair between Dan Henderson and “Shogun” Rua as the evenings featured attraction.

The Ultimate Fighter winner, Ryan Bader, finds himself in a must win situation following back to back losses to Jon Jones and Tito Ortiz in his last two UFC appearances. The streak marks both his first and second professional loss.

Jason Brilz is on a similar path having dropped fights to both Rogerio Nogueira and Vladimir Matyushenko consecutively.

After more than a year long layoff, Ultimate Fighter 8 alum, Tom Lawlor will make his first appearance since his UFC 121 victory over former title challenger, Patrick Cote. It was his first win since back-to-back losses against Joe Doerksen and Aaron Simpson almost forced him out of the promotion.

Weidman is a Matt Serra trained fighter who made his UFC debut at UFC on Versus 3 as a late replacement against Alessio Sakara. After beating Sakara he went on to submit Jesse Bongfeldt at UFC 131 and earned “Submission of the Night” in the process. The two-time D1 All-American Wrestler is one of the hottest prospects currently fighting in the UFC’s middleweight division.

The UFC 139 card breaks down as follows:

MAIN CARD: (Pay-per-view)
• Dan Henderson vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua
• Cung Le vs. Wanderlei Silva
• Brian Bowles vs. Urijah Faber
• Martin Kampmann vs. Rick Story
• Stephan Bonnar vs. Kyle Kingsbury

PRELIMINARY CARD:
(Spike TV)
• Ryan Bader vs. Jason Brilz
• Tom Lawlor vs. Chris Weidman

PRELIMINARY CARD:
• Nick Pace vs. Miguel Torres
• Rafael dos Anjos vs. Gleison Tibau
• Johnny Eduardo vs. Michael McDonald
