UFC 138: Scanlon Out, Maquire In Against Head

UFC welterweight fighter, Mark Scanlon, has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled meeting with James Head at UFC 138 due to an undisclosed injury.
In his place comes UFC newcomer and U.K. resident John Maquire.
“UFC 138: Munoz vs. Leben” goes down at the LG Arena at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham England. The Spike TV card will feature a main event between middleweights, Mark Munoz and Chris Leben in the UFC’s first ever 5-round non-title fight.
James Head was last seen at UFC 131 where he was submitted by Nick Ring via rear naked choke in the third round. The loss was the second of his career and snapped a two fight win streak that he brought into the promotion, which includes a win over UFC veteran Gerald Harris.
Maquire is a product of the Tsunami Fight Gym in London and carries a professional mixed martial arts record of 16-3 including a current five-fight win streak. He is the current UCMMA champ and holds a victory over TUF season 9 competitor Dean Amasinger.
