UFC 137: Penn vs. Diaz Officially Draws 10,313 Attendees For A $3.9 Million Gate

Last month’s UFC 137 event officially drew in 10,313 attendees for a live gate total of $3,900,650.00.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission today released the final tally via email.
UFC 137: Penn vs. Diaz” took place this past Saturday from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The pay-per-view event was a stacked affair that put two of the most popular fighters in MMA against each other for a welterweight showdown that was nothing short of spectacular.
Out of the 21 UFC events that have taken place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, UFC 137 ranks third in all time gate figures.
Of the 10,313 in attendance, only 2,134 were comp’ed their tickets, meaning that the other 8,179 fans who attended the October 29 event paid for their seats through a ticket retailer or the box office. Doing the math these figures make the average price paid per person at $476.91.
The show sold out within an hour of going public and as such the UFC set up a closed circuit feed in an additional arena for fans who could not obtain a seat. The UFC 137 closed circuit feed drew in 723 fans, 523 of which paid the price of entry for an additional $26,150 in revenue.
