UFC 137 Medical Suspensions Report


10 UFC 137 fighters will be forced on the shelf for a period of time as specified by The Nevada State Athletic Commission for damages suffered during last weekends pay-per-view event.

UFC 137: Penn vs. Diaz” took place this past Saturday from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The pay-per-view event was a stacked affair that put two of the most popular fighters in MMA against each other for a welterweight showdown that was nothing short of spectacular.

In one of the best and most technical MMA fights in history, Nick Diaz returned to the UFC in emphatic fashion to best multiple time champion, BJ Penn.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission emailed BJPENN.COM yesterday with the suspensions list and it is as follows:

• Nick Diaz: Suspended until Nov. 29 with no contact until Nov. 20 for precautionary reasons
• B.J. Penn: Suspended until Dec. 29 with no contact until Dec. 14 for precautionary reasons
• Matt Mitrione: Suspended until Dec. 14 with no contact until No. 29 for precautionary reasons
• Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic: Suspended until Dec. 14 with no contact until No. 29 for precautionary reasons
• George Roop: Suspended until Dec. 14 with no contact until Nov. 29 due to lacerations
• Dennis Siver: Suspended until Dec. 14 with no contact until No. 29 for precautionary reasons
• Tyson Griffin: Suspended until Dec. 14 with no contact until No. 29 for precautionary reasons
• Bart Palaszewski: Suspended until April 28 due a possible right-hand break, though he can be cleared early by an orthopedic doctor; regardless, suspended until Dec. 14 with no contact until Nov. 29 for precautionary reasons
• Brandon Vera: Suspended until April 28 due a left-elbow ligament tear, though he can be cleared early by an orthopedic doctor; regardless, suspended until Dec. 14 with no contact until Nov. 29 for precautionary reasons
• Danny Downes: Suspended until Nov. 29 with no contact until Nov. 20 due to lacerations
