Tyron Woodley On Marquardt | "I look at him and I feel like he’s wearing my belt." | Strikeforce News

Tyron Woodley comments to Sherdog.
Woodley was knocked out in the fourth round of a back and forward fight by Nate Marquardt. However Woodley admits the pain inflicted on his body was nothing in comparision to the pain he felt when he saw Marquardt wearing the belt.
“I didn’t see myself losing against Nate. I didn’t necessarily try to protect my undefeated record. I didn’t see myself going undefeated for my entire career.That would have been great, but for me, I just thought I was faster. I thought that using my timing, using my hands, using my speed and using my wrestling, you know I didn’t want to do a whole lot of taking down and wrestling. He was waiting on that, he was ready for that. I got a fat lip, my legs are a little sore, he got a couple leg kicks in. Just frustrated. No pain in my body takes away from the fact that I look at him and I feel like he’s wearing my belt. Kudos to the guy, he came out hard. He took some good shots as well. We went out there and fought hard, he came out on top today so there’s nothing you can take from the guy.”
Prior to the Marquardt bout Woodley held a perfect record of (10-0) with victories over the likes of Tarec Saffiedine and Paul Daley. Woodley will no doubt be looking to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

It never looked like he could win the fight. He was outclassed by Marquardt in every aspect of the game.
He does win for having the most annoying mothers support ever. I dunno what she was thinking, but it was obvious she was aware of the camera and whenever it was pointed at her she managed to scream even louder. Up until he got KTFO.

i think if T-Wood believed in his hands and worked better on striking with his shoulders and hips… cuz you can tell he is not sure how to unleashed all of that power that is obviously in those hands of his.

I was pulling for Nate just so he could shut that old, fat, loudmouth of a mother up. She made ME want to fight T-Wood just so I could get close enough to tell her how much I hate her voice.

I think that TWood showed a lot of improvement in his hands and willingness to stand and try to break away from all the negativity about how he WINS. This fight is probably the start of his coming out party. I say give it two – three fight. Woodley will be a big name in the WW division.
Woodley, is working his striking like a madman. He will show his improvement in his next few fights. I think he should of fitched the shit outta Nate though. He doesn;t give a shit about all the haters and his abilities. He just wants to ko people in the future.
