Two Bouts Booked for January UFC Event in Brazil
The UFC will once again make their way back to Brazil in January, but as of right now it looks as though that event will either be a UFC on Fuel or UFC on FX card. While there is no official title for the event that hasn’t stopped the organization from moving forward and booking fights.
The UFC will host an event on January 19th and according to sources close to the organization former TUF Brazil runner-up Godofredo Pepey aka Godofredo Castro will face Milton Vieira and Yuri Alcantara will make his bantamweight debut as he takes on Johnny Eduardo. Alcantara is 27-4 and is coming off a decision loss to Hacran Dias at UFC 147. This will be his fourth fight in Brazil for the UFC as he has competed on the UFC 134 and UFC 142 cards as well. Eduardo is 26-9 and was last seen defeating Jeff Curran at UFC on Fuel TV: Korean Zombie vs. Poirier in May.
Pepey (Castro) lost his UFC debut at UFC 147 to Rony Bezerra in an attempt to win the six figure contract in the featherweight division in the first ever TUF Brazil. Vieira is 13-7-2 and recently fought to a draw against Felipe Arantes at UFC 147 in June.
The card is rumored to be headlined by a middleweight showdown featuring Vitor Belfort and Michael Bisping. Belfort recently lost to Jon Jones via fourth round submission at UFC 152 where he stepped in to challenge the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion on short notice. Bisping defeated Brian Stann via unanimous decision on the same card.
The UFC has run four events in Brazil since August of last year and has drawn great crowds and terrific television ratings. They recently announced a second season of TUF Brazil featuring Fabricio Werdum and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira as coaches.

Belfort Vs. bisping sounds like a good match up to me… I enjoy giving Bisping a little shit know and again.. So here goes.. I really don’t see tha fight going his way… I think Belforts southpaw style will just catch him out of position and overwhelm him.. Another highlight reel ko loss on his record.. But…. This is his big chance Also …this is his chance to show me he is for real.. If he could win this fight . He would show he is a legit challenger..
